Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. Parents are Manny James and Patty James. He is the son of an Nigerian father and a Caucasian mom. Following his graduation of Sanderson High School, in 2010, he attended Wake Forest University and obtained an Economics Bachelor's Degree. James gained fame after he appeared on screen for his debut as a reality show star during The Bachelorette. He was selected in 2020 to become the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in 2021. James has the right look to play the role. He's tall and handsome, with an innate ability to laugh. Rachael Krakconnell, who was his girlfriend to date throughout the season. James was paired with dancer Arnold whom was also famous at the time to participate in the season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold placed 12th in the competition.
